A new play by Barry T. Brodie! In 1876 Russia composer Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky met two women who changed the course of his life: Nadezhda von Meck, his patroness of 17 years, whose financial support was conditioned solely on their never meeting face to face and Antonina Milyukova, a former student, whom he married in the hopes that it would cover up his homosexuality and mollify his family and colleagues. The one blossomed into a deep, intimate friendship through their correspondence; the other swirled into a disastrous nightmare hovering in the background of what became a stellar career. An Echo of the Soul reveals Tchaikovsky’s creative process alongside his personal struggle while composing his Fourth Symphony.

Film and Locations
Windsor/Detroit has a thriving and vibrant film community but also very few places in the core to view those films in style once they are complete. Coming soon, we will offer rear projection into a 10’x22′ screen with theatrical audio, excellent seating, and Golden Age or noir environs for your film presentations. We also handle ticketing and can arrange catering at request. Contact us for details at bloomsburymasonic@gmail.com.
For film production, the Ballroom and the Temple offer excellent sound isolation and a strikingly wide variety of locations which can stand in for a Renaissance study, a 50s diner, a 20s speakeasy, a Manhattan foyer, a big-city restaurant kitchen, etc. with many opportunities in between. Location scouts are welcome to explore but keep in mind that this registered historic site allows no painting, alterations, or affixations. We are located 15 minutes from Windsor International Airport (YQG) and 40 minutes from Detroit Metro Airport (DTW).

About the Masonic Temple and Ballroom
The Masonic Temple is a three-storey red brick Neo-Classical Revival style building with contrasting limestone trim designed by architect J.C. Pennington and completed in 1922, located on the north-east corner of the intersection of Erie Street and Ouellette Avenue in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
The Temple was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1995. Many of the furnishings in the Lodge rooms date back to the late 1800s. The building has been scrupulously maintained largely in its original state, with modernisation in electrical service, washrooms, and a fully-wheelchair-accessible elevator.
